LAMP-Kinship’s December group event was to be bell ringers for the Salvation Army! We got two opportunities to bell ring at both Econofoods and Walmart. It was a lot of fun! We had some holiday music playing, we handed out chocolates to people that passed by, and, of course, rang the bells! We also got to enjoy some hot chocolate and cookies, although our hot chocolate outside at Walmart ended up tasting more like chocolate milk. The temperatures were a bit cold that night! Thanks so much to all of our bell ringers who came out…Elijah, Jackie, Mike, Dmitri, Cody, Abby, Arvella, Chris, Galen, and Carol. You are all awesome people, and it was so fun to spend a few hours together visiting and especially doing something for a good cause! Way to go LAMP youth and mentors!!
Proceds from the Salvation Army go towards many different projects in the county. It has funded the Back to School Supplies Program, the Coat project, the community Christmas meal, food for low-income elderly residents, and emergency shelter for the homeless, to name a few. Our thanks to Jan Schlack for coordinating all of the bell ringing this season. THANK YOU also to all of the generous people who have donated to the kettles!!
